Delivering a cool and contemporary style to a new build home

For their new build property in North Wales, our clients wanted a home that reflects their style – cool and contemporary.

Our brief included the complete interior design and exterior landscaping equipped with a party BBQ hut. As a young couple, the social spaces were especially important to them, as was the need for it to feel homely.

Following an in-depth consultation, we began designing the interior. There was a lot of space to play with – the house has a cinema room, lounge and study. Plus, the large kitchen allowed for multiple dining zones to suit any occasion, including a central island and breakfast bar, as well as a more formal space for sit down meals. Six bathrooms were also given an individual character alongside their adjoining bedrooms.

To ensure each room had a distinct style, we opted for bespoke joinery with dedicated media and storage units. We then added a contemporary colour palette, and subtle lighting techniques such as wall lights and hidden LED coffer lighting. A grand chandelier completed the central stairwell, again complementing the property’s spacious architecture.

We created a contemporary kitchen which is perfect for family living; large quartz island with timber breakfast bar and separate dining table. Whatever the family is up to there’s a space for cooking, eating, homework and reading without anyone getting under anyone’s feet.

When tasked with designing bedrooms, especially master suites we tend to keep to a tranquil and restful colour scheme. This bedroom was kept neutral with warm tones brought through in bronzes and subtle metallics.⁠ Layers of texture create a perfect place to relax.
