End of Year Roundup 2023

In the blink of an eye it’s just a few days till the festivities go full throttle. We hope you’re all set and have fun plans ahead with those nearest and dearest.

Happy Christmas

We want to take a moment to say a big Happy Christmas to all our clients, suppliers, and collaborators.

But the stark truth is that for many people Christmas is a really difficult time. That’s why this year we haven’t sent Christmas Cards and instead are supporting the Trussel Trust through the West Cheshire Foodbank.

This winter, food banks in the Trussel Trust network are expecting to provide over one million emergency food parcels. It’s such a critical time for families, if you want to know more or can offer even the smallest support this is their website.

Looking back on 2023

Here at Lewis Knox 2023 has been good to us, and we’re very grateful for it. Our scope and reach have expanded, and we’ve worked on more than 16 new client projects across the North West and Wales this year. It’s kept the studio very busy and will continue to do so into the new year.

Awards…

It’s always nice for the creativity and hard work of the team to be recognised and this year we were shortlisted in two national design awards – the British Institute of Interior Design and Northern Design Awards. These nominations are testament to the skill, passion, and high-level of service that underpins every project our team completes.

Recognition from industry experts is great, but what really gets us out of bed in the morning is giving our clients their dream homes. It’s always hard to pick favourite projects but our team have chosen a couple of special spaces to celebrate this year:

Cosy space of the year: Highfield Day Living

The final element of a stylish update to a South Cheshire Home, this day living area is just asking to be kicked back in. A zone designed to offer space to chill out but stay connected. The large sofa with oversized swivel chairs has room for all the family of six (and their dog) to relax in.

Bath of the year: Soughton Ensuite

Only one tub could clinch bath of the year… throughout this project we wanted to maximise the incredible views from the lodge and positioning the contemporary freestanding bath, so it enjoys uninterrupted garden views gives the ensuite a real wow factor.

Bed of the year: Highfield Bunk Bed

A hotly contested category but these clever bunk beds really rose to the challenge. Twin boys aged nine needed a space for now – and the future. A bunk-style set of beds with moveable singles on the ground floor, tiered steps with added storage, and comfortable mattresses above make flexible hideouts for friends to stay in, the boys to read in, and dens to be made in.

On the horizon for 2024

It’s already shaping up to be an exciting 2024. We’ve recently been awarded a new build project in Kent for international clients so watch this space for more on that…  and in January we will be welcoming a fantastic new Senior Interior Designer who will bring a wealth of experience and fresh ideas to the team.

As a studio we’re continuing to develop our architectural offering. It’s always been a key part of the work we do at Lewis Knox but if you know someone who has a plot of land and needs support to visualise and deliver something incredible send them our way.

That’s a wrap

All that’s left is to wish you all a wonderful Christmas and new year.  The studio will close on Friday 22 December at 4pm and re-open on Tuesday 2 January.  We look forward to creating more special spaces with you in 2024.
