End of Year Roundup 2024

Wishing You a Wonderful Christmas

As we approach the festive season, we want to take a moment to wish a heartfelt Happy Christmas to all our clients, suppliers, and collaborators. This time of year is often a time for joy and celebration, but we also recognise that it can be particularly challenging for many families.

That’s why, as in previous years, we have chosen not to send Christmas cards. Instead, this year we are proud to support KidsBank. KidsBank collects new and pre-loved items for babies and children, including equipment, clothes, toys, and toiletries and distributes them to families across Cheshire and Flintshire who are facing tough times. These families often contend with challenges such as homelessness, unemployment, high living costs, and domestic violence.

In 2023, with the incredible support of their donors, KidsBank provided gifts to 1,147 children. They anticipate even greater demand this year, and we’re honoured to help make a difference. If you’d like to donate or learn more, you can do so here.

Reflecting on 2024

This year has been another incredible one for Lewis Knox. We’ve expanded our reach, taken on exciting new projects, and made strides as a team. Here’s a look back at some of our highlights:

A Trip to Bruges

This year, we took time out to visit Bruges with the team, and it was nothing short of amazing. From exploring the city’s stunning architecture to soaking up the festive atmosphere of its Christmas markets, every moment was a delight.

A group of about ten smiling adults in winter coats pose at night at a festive market, holding cups in front of a large Christmas tree wrapped in fairy lights and an illuminated Gothic-style building with spires.
Row of narrow historic Flemish-style buildings with stepped gables — pale green, pink and red-brick façades with arched ground floors and tall windows — lining a cobblestone street under a pale blue sky with a few pedestrians, viewed from street level.
A group of people in winter coats stand on a fenced platform at the base of a tall wooden windmill with large red-and-blue sails, photographed from a grassy slope under a grey sky.

One particular highlight was our visit to Vincent Sheppard Furniture, a long-standing Belgian trade partner who provide indoor and external furniture that is integral to many of our projects. Vincent Sheppard is also one of just four global suppliers of classic Lloyd Loom furniture – a timeless favourite of ours. Thank you for the inspiring visit and warm hospitality Vincent Sheppard Furniture.

Minimalist dining area with a light-coloured rectangular table topped with white ceramic bowls, a small green box and brochures, surrounded by wooden chairs with woven seats, two framed abstract prints on a pale grey wall and a tall dark-green vase of orange flowers by a large window looking onto a lawn.
Tall fluted wooden vase filled with large orange chrysanthemum-like blooms, spiky pale-pink flowers and eucalyptus leaves on a light wood table beside a cream stacked-sphere vase and a mint-green book titled Vincent Sheppard.
Adults gathered around an oval dining table in a modern open-plan room with exposed wooden beams, one man standing and speaking as others sit and chat with plates, wine glasses and soft drinks on the table.

Team Updates

Our team has continued to grow and evolve this year. Paula Evans, who joined us in January, has stepped into her new role of Design Manager. We’ve also welcomed our first long-term intern, Sophie, who has been a fantastic addition to the team. She’ll be completing her internship in February before heading back to Bath University for her final year. You can read more about Sophie’s journey with us here.

Congratulations are also in order for Beth, who is expecting her first child in April. We’re thrilled for her and look forward to meeting the newest addition to her family.

On the horizon for 2025

The new year promises to be just as exciting, with several remarkable projects on the horizon. In January, we’ll be starting a Shropshire farmhouse renovation, alongside a period property transformation in Shrewsbury. Early summer will see the completion of our Kent new build project.

We’re also thrilled to share the stunning rendered visuals for an exceptional luxury new build property in Cheshire that will be commencing next year. A special thanks to NC Architecture for their rendered exterior architectural visuals.

Symmetrical two-storey stone house with twin steep gables and a central arched entrance, brown tiled roof, large multi-pane windows, a paved forecourt and purple flowerbeds framed by trees under a blue sky.
Large two‑storey stone house with steep gabled roofs and warmly lit windows at dusk, fronted by a patio with outdoor seating and a wildflower meadow of purple blooms and ornamental grasses, framed by mature trees beneath a cloudy evening sky.

Plus lots of exciting projects in the pipeline which we will reveal soon…

Closing the Year in Style

As we wrap up 2024, we want to thank you for being part of our journey. The studio will close on Monday 23rd December, at 1pm and re-open on Thursday 2nd January, at 9am. Until then, we wish you a joyful Christmas and a wonderful New Year. Here’s to designing even more inspiring spaces together in 2025.
