Set amidst the glorious Cheshire countryside, our clients’ charming country home has a refined style. They wanted a new look for their Georgian drawing room but weren’t sure where to start. We met up in the space to discuss their tastes and find out more about how they wanted to use the room.
Relaxation was key. This needed to be a place where they could put their feet up and enjoy a morning coffee with the newspaper. The atmosphere of the room should make it an inviting and appealing place to unwind. After exploring all the ideas together, we agreed to a classic English country aesthetic with a down-to-earth feel.
The existing alcoves and a large television stand dominated the original room. To address this, we fitted cabinets into the alcove space and mounted the television inside to hide it when not in use. The new, custom-made furniture was built to suit the proportions of the room, and the upholstered coffee table was designed so that feet were always welcome on it. Finally, to create a cosy ambience, we placed table lamps around the room to offer warmer, more intimate lighting, for a setting our clients could enjoy for years to come.
